Have we forgotten?

I'm thankful for a country that allows me the freedom to enjoy "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". God Bless America. God Bless our Troops and all those who have suffered and died for us and God help our people make righteous decisions so we may continue to enjoy these gifts.

Were you in Spain also when it happened? I know you weren't my companion, but you may have still been there. It was weird not being here for it and coming home and realizing that it really had effected everyone. I still feel like I don't totally understand the impact it had since I was so far away.

You know, I actually wrote a letter to my Senator today in honor of 9-11.

Don't forget what we are fighting for- we need to keep fighting. Please don;t bail out businesses and take over healthcare.... Please!

I am swiping a photo for my post... hope you don't mind!
PS-
How are you feeling?

Yesterday I talked with my kids about all the heros of that day, and I cried and they listened. It was such an amazing and tragic time for our country. Amazing to see people praying together of all faiths, amazing to see flags everywhere, to see people coming together even very different people coming together. Amazing to see the true goodness of the people we share a county with. To see them sacrifice for each other, to see them die for each other, to see the bravery come out when truly tested. It was amazing to see so many people sign up for the armed forces afterward because they wanted to help protect us at home who can't protect ourselves.

Tragic to see the deaths, to feel vulnerable for the first time on our own soil, to see the despair and the sadness as people truly suffered, to see buildings fall.

But the most tragic is to see it become a topic of yesterday, to see apathy creeping in, to see people forget.
